Once you’ve been an affiliate for more than three years, you’ll pay the ‘permanent subscription’ rate applicable to a long term affiliate. However, you may be eligible to apply for a reduced subscription in some circumstances. If you’re on low income, not in active employment or haven’t been able to progress with your PER due to full-time study.

To apply for a reduced subscription, please complete the reduced subscription application and upload your supporting evidence.
We offer three categories of reduced subscription:

1. Extended leave subscription
You may qualify for an extended leave subscription if you earn less than 16,500 GBP and you're not in active employment due to one of the following:

  • Raising a family full-time or are a full-time carer

  • Re-entered full-time education

  • Experiencing long-term unemployment

  • Suffering a prolonged illness that’s prevented you from seeking employment

  • Left accountancy to pursue a religious vocation

Details of the extended leave subscription fee can be found on our Fees and charges page.

2. Subscription assistance
You may qualify for subscription assistance application if you're currently in employment and earn less than 15,750 GBP.

The latest subscription assistance fee is on our Fees and charges page.

3. Full Time Study Support
If during your time as an affiliate, you have been unable to start the Practical Experience Requirement (PER) due to being in full-time study (e.g. a full-time masters programme), you may qualify for a reduced rate. This rate is the equivalent to the standard affiliate rate and can be claimed for a maximum of two years only.
