Apprenticeships involve three key stakeholders: the apprentice, the employer, and the learning provider.

Each plays a specific role at different stages of the apprenticeship.

Employer

  • Provides at least 30 hours per week of relevant work experience.
  • Covers apprentice’s on-programme exam fees, as well as any potential resits of the end point assessment (EPA).
  • Covers registration and subscription fees.
  • Supports development of professional skills, behaviours and workplace training.
  • Confirms apprentice is ready for the EPA by signing the Gateway Access Form.

Learning Provider

  • Delivers tuition for exams.
  • Monitors development.
  • Books and pays for the EPA exam.

Apprentice

  • Registers with ACCA and submits Transfer Form if necessary.
  • Studies for and sits on-programme exams.
  • Engages with learning provider and employer, ensuring they’re on track to complete the apprenticeship.
  • Completes EPA components.

Once the apprenticeship is complete, ACCA shares the results with the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), who issues the official apprenticeship certificate.
