The Accreditation team will refer to ECCTIS to determine if an institution is recognised by the appropriate local ministry of education. ECCTIS operates the UK ENIC service on behalf of the Department for Education in the UK. After checking the recognition of the institution awarding the qualification submitted for accreditation, a review of the qualification will be undertaken to assign a level. The standard of the national qualification being submitted for exemption accreditation is reviewed to check the maximum level of exemption that can be considered. Again, UK ENIC is used for this purpose. After the appropriate initial checks have been carried out, a full review of a programme’s content will be undertaken. A summary of the requirements has been noted below; however, full requirements can be found via the syllabus. The Accreditation team will conduct a mapping exercise to ascertain the level of syllabus covered by relevant modules to specific ACCA exams. The minimum recommended level of comparable syllabus for an individual module or group of modules being considered towards exemption from an ACCA paper is 80%. You will be asked to list the most relevant modules to be included throughout your online application. Once the modules with suitably relevant syllabus have been identified, the assessment methods of these modules will be reviewed.
Exemption from individual ACCA exams will normally only be considered based on modules which are assessed by means of examination.
Examinations which are acceptable for accreditation purposes are those which fulfil the following criteria:
• closed book, unless taken in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, or as part of a Postgraduate level qualification
• final module examinations, unless taken as part of a double unit (i.e. 30 ECTS credits or equivalent), in which case mid-term examinations will be acceptable
The number of hours’ examination coverage must be at least equivalent to the ACCA paper being considered. This can be for one module or a combination of modules, up to to a maximum of four modules per exam.
Acceptable examinations must contribute at least 50% of the total module marks available for each module being considered towards exemption from an ACCA examination.
Once a full comparison of syllabus and examinations has been completed, notification will be sent to you via your MyACCA portal, along with a certificate and logo. More information on the programme can be found here Exemption accreditation | Learning providers | ACCA Global.
