If you are a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants you can apply for ACCA Membership if you satisfy the eligibility criteria listed under either the CICPA route or the Senior Accountant Certificate route.
CICPA Route
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible via the CICPA route:
- You must hold full membership of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA) via the CICPA Qualification route and not through a mutual/direct membership route.
- You have undertaken continuing professional development as required by CICPA.
- You are a member of CICPA and have more than five years’ relevant post-membership work experience in a finance or accounting role in either public or non-public sector; and have good standing.
Required supporting documentation
Along with your application, you will need to submit the following documents:
- Proof of identity (ie, a copy of a passport or identity card)
- Certificate(s) to evidence high business proficiency English (eg, CET 6, PETS Level 4, IELTS score of 6.0, BEC Vantage, or other equivalent English certificates, etc.)
- Copy of the CICPA membership certificate
- A screenshot of the CICPA membership portal confirming good standing with no disciplinary record and up to date CPD and membership fees.
Senior accountant certificate route
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible via the senior accountant certification route:
- You must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or above (in finance, accountancy, economics, business administration, financial management) that gives exemptions to the following ACCA exams:
- Business and Technology (BT)
- Management Accounting (MA)
- Financial Accounting (FA)
- Corporate and Business Law (LW)
- Taxation (TX)
- You must hold the ACCA accredited audit module certificate issued by NAI.
- You must hold Ministry of Finance Senior Accountant Certificate (SAC) and not through a mutual/direct certificate route.
- You must have undertaken continuing professional development as required by Senior Accountants, under its regulations.
- You must have more than five years’ relevant work experience in a senior leadership position or other equivalent finance or accounting role in either public or non-public sector; and have good standing.
Required supporting documentation
Along with your application, you will need to submit the following documents:
- Proof of identity (ie, a copy of a passport or identity card)
- Certificate(s) to evidence high business proficiency English (eg, CET 6, PETS Level 4, IELTS score of 6.0, BEC Vantage, or other equivalent English certificates, etc.)
- Copy of the certificate of a relevant bachelor’s degree as outlined above.
- Copy of the Senior Accountant Certificate.
- A copy of evidence confirming good standing with up to date CPD record.
