Apprenticeships in England are largely funded through the government’s apprenticeship levy. This means training costs are covered by government funding and the employer’s contribution; the student pays nothing.

Employers pay the apprentice’s salary and cover on-programme exam entry fees.

Learning providers cover the cost of the end point assessment (EPA).

Exam fees

On-programme exam fees can be managed in different ways:

  • The apprentice pays upfront and is reimbursed by their employer.
  • The employer pays directly using a company credit card.
  • If the employer has an ACCA Partner Services account, they can be invoiced for the fees directly.

To allow the learning provider to book and pay for the EPA fees, the apprentice must be added to the learning provider’s account by following these steps:

  1. The learning provider will send the apprentice an invitation to connect by email, from their organisation's account.
  2. The apprentice accepts by clicking a link within the email. Once accepted, the learning provider can view and administer the apprentice’s ACCA account and exam entries.
  3. The learning provider will then book the EPA exam, and will be billed directly for this fee.

Reassessments are not covered by the learning provider and should be paid for by the employer.
